PDFMelt is a mobile utility application designed for local document manipulation, including merging, splitting, compressing, and extracting PDF pages. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your documents with complete confidentiality. This Privacy Policy details how data and files are managed within the application.

1. Local Processing & Document Privacy

PDFMelt operates under a strict 100% local processing architecture.

Your files never leave your phone. All processing is executed locally in your device's memory.

On-Device Processing: All PDF operations (compression, splitting, merging, page extraction) occur exclusively within your mobile device's local memory.
Zero Cloud / Server Storage: Your documents are never uploaded, transmitted, stored, or processed on external servers. The developers of PDFMelt have no access to, visibility over, or technical capability to retrieve any of your files.
Offline Capability: Core document manipulation features function entirely without an active internet connection.

2. System Permissions & File Access

PDFMelt adheres to standard Android security guidelines for privacy-preserving file access:

Storage Access Framework (SAF): The app uses the native Android system picker to let you explicitly select specific files. This grants the app temporary access limited strictly to the chosen files.
No Broad Access Required: PDFMelt does not request full storage permissions (such as MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) or general gallery access.
Express Exclusions: PDFMelt does not access or request permissions for location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, or hardware sensors.

3. Information We Collect

The application is designed to be used without user registration, account creation, or submission of personal data.

No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, request, or store names, email addresses, phone numbers, government IDs, or financial information.
Network Status: The application queries network state solely to check internet availability for serving advertisements and validating ad rewards.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

PDFMelt is a free utility application supported by advertising. To keep the application free, PDFMelt integrates the Google AdMob SDK to deliver ads. AdMob may automatically collect non-personally identifiable technical information, including:

Android Advertising ID (AAID): Used for frequency capping and ad personalization control.
IP Address and Technical Device Data: Used for fraud prevention, network diagnostics, and approximate location attribution.
Ad Interaction Metrics: Information regarding ad impressions and clicks within the app.

5. Disclaimer & Service Terms

PDFMelt is provided on an "AS IS" basis. Users are solely responsible for maintaining backup copies of their original documents before executing compression, splitting, or merging operations. PDFMelt is not liable for file corruption or data loss caused by hardware errors, storage limitations, or process interruptions on the user's device.

6. Children's Privacy

PDFMelt is a general utility app not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
